I believe Ames was the oldest in this group of Brittany's rescued from a hoarding situation in April 2024. When he arrived in Ohio, I knew immediately why it was decided he needed a short trip from the veterinary boarding in Pennsylvania. Poor guy was in a fragile state of health. These are the dogs I love helping in partnership with my veterinarian. Ames had a heavy heartworm burden along with a serious heart murmer. By early July he had completed heartworm treatment. Not too long after a cardiologology check up at MedVet, he was found to also developed hypertension. Medication improved his situation and he continued with regular cardiology checkups. During all this, he was such a good and brave boy. Zero behavior problems, enjoyed healthy food, was always a special patient to his veterinarian. Ames groomer adored him. I had the privilege of watching him thrive and my very own Velcro dog! He loved going on car rides and traveled on a short vacation with me in 2024 to Presque Isle State Park. He was an absolute joy to foster. On October 14th this year (2025) Ames passed peacefully in his sleep. The emptiness in my home of Ames always by my side was bittersweet. He had nearly 18 months of love, kindness and a home. That's all dogs ask for. Run on ahead Ames. We will see you again💗
