2023 CapitalCampaign

Meet Dixon. Dixon came into NBRAN in June after his owner was unable to afford the surgery to fix his dislocated Hip. Knowing that he was in a lot of pain, NBRAN immediately took him to NC State Veterinary Hospital, where he underwent FHO (femoral head osteotomy) surgery to repair his hip. Following his surgery, Dixon underwent 8 weeks of intense physical, water and massage therapy. The cost to NBRAN for his surgery and rehab was approximately $7500. But it had to be done to get Dixon healed and ready for adoption. He thrived in his foster home during recovery and we are happy to report that he has found his forever family and has been adopted!
Why would anyone spend so much money on a dog? NBRAN feels if treatment is available that will improve the quality of life for one of our dogs, every effort will be made to get that care. Dixon would have faced euthanization if NBRAN didn't agree to take him. He was otherwise a young and healthy dog that had a long life expectance and an abundance of love to share. His new family loves him and he loves them. Thanks to the continuing financial donations from our wonderful supporters, Dixon and many other dogs like him are able to get the needed medical attention and live happily ever after.
NBRAN’s operational costs to care for our beloved dogs range from $25K to $30K PER month. And like last year, inflation continues to take a bigger bite out of NBRAN's resources. Many of our wonderful veterinarians do what they can to keep costs down, but their own operating costs are increasing, which means higher bills for us.
Your help is crucial to NBRANs ability to plan for dog care needs and veterinary emergencies such as Dixon's.
