We adopted Bailey (aka Cain, Benny) from Patti Lavine in the fall of 2019. Now they are reunited! Bailey was euthanized on the one year anniversary date of the day we all lost Patti! Patti shared his story. Bailey and his brother Abel were found tied to a post next to a highway near a hunting reserve in Northern CA. He was traumatized, as Abel attacked him, and he had no escape. He recovered from his physical wounds but was a very anxious guy who didn't like going on walks. He loved chasing squirrels and birds in our enclosed yard, even caught a rabbit! We loved Bailey's sweet and gentle nudges and chuckles! He fit in well with our two other rescues- 13 yr old male Westie and 4-year-old female Bull Terrier mix. We were hoping Bailey - 13 yr. old male Brittany Spaniel, would enjoy being a Therapy Dog like our other rescues- but he preferred to be at home and welcomed visits with our grandchildren and playing with his toys. Although he had a normal physical and blood work the previous month for dental treatment, cancer was found on ultrasound on his liver and spleen with internal bleeding. It was sudden and unexpected. Fortunately, he wasn't suffering long. This was our first Brittany Spaniel adoption, and we were so blessed with this beautiful guy!
