Just like our human family and friends, pets impact our world and have a profound effect on us. From the pup that helped our children develop disciple through daily feedings & care taking, to the hunting companion that brought us our first bird, our beloved companions become a part of our everyday life. Their unconditional love, wet noses, unwavering loyalty, and blind devotion is woven into the tapestry of our lives.
We are sharing some of our favorite Rainbow Bridge stories below and would love to help you honor and preserve the memory of your Brittany! Please send us your great Brittany memories! You can email stories and photographs, or complete the online form.

Nikki/CO
Read MoreWe were blessed to have Nikki in our lives for almost 8 years, thanks to NBRAN. She had loving brown eyes, a sweet disposition, and an independent streak that took her into the great wide open. She was always kind to people of all sizes, and never shied away from a fine piece of cheese or dinner plate. While rarely snuggly, she always accepted love in her own limited way, which would end with her jumping up and being ready to walk; she sniffed...and sniffed...and sniffed. In her advanced age, she still found a puppy like-spin, and loved her car rides and off-leash dog parks. We will miss her terribly.

Keira
Read MoreWe said goodbye to Keira (aka Kyra Lea) this week (March 31, 2022). We adopted her from NBRAN 13 years ago. A wonderful woman, Debbie was her foster Mom in Arkansas. I believe that Keira's birth was in St. Louis. Keira was our constant companion and enjoyed an active life, with running, hiking and swimming in her favorite locations: Maine, St Augustine Florida, and our Bucks County fenced back yard. She was very active all her life, except as she slowed down, like we all do, as she aged. She still seemed to thrive despite losing her hearing and part of her sight a few years ago (due to normal aging). She was an amazing Brit, smart, curious, sometimes bossy and frequently a clown. Keira always loyal, gentle, sweet and loving to everyone and every animal she ever met. Even those who weren’t so keen on her! She will be missed dearly. Joan & John Winterbottom

Charlie-TX
Read MeCharlie was an amazing soul. He saved us after we lost our lab Sadie of 16yrs. Charlie spoke to us with his eyes, never left our side, and protected our family. He was quite fond of his kiddos, waking them every morning with his cold nose and jump on the bed. He loved to jog with mom and dad, chase squirrels, and go for car rides. His favorite seat was up front. Charlie was also a great listener, helping my daughter navigate her changing world this year as she entered intermediate school. We love you Charlie and are so heart broken to have lost you way too soon. Thank you for your love and all the happiness you filled our home with.

Scout (California)
Scout was adopted by us on 9/14/2007 along with his brother Champ who
is also in this Rainbow Bridge Memorial, Scout was just the best dog we
ever had. He was smart, reserved, the best personality, and the best
buddy anyone could ever wanted. On 9/28/2021 we had to say goodbye,
as his kidneys had started to fail after a year and a half battle with
issues, we are heartbroken and this house is all too quite. But we remember
the great 14+ years we had together and will never forget our boy Scout.
Goodbye Shadow, see you soon. We miss and love you.

Rest in peace, Molly, rest in peace, Gaye. Thank you.

Lady (Nadine)
Read MoreIn September of 2011 you allowed my husband and I to foster-fail Nadine (now Lady). 10 year later, almost to the day. We had to say goodbye to our best friend. Continuous pleural effusions (most likely due to lung cancer) got the best of her. While I would sell everything I own to keep her feeling healthy, I could not keep putting her through chest taps and difficulty breathing just so we could have her with us a little longer. Yesterday she let us know it was "time" and passed with her head in my hands on her blanket, in the outdoor garden of Oceanstate Veterinary Clinic (but not without jumping in their coy pond first). We are heartbroken and can't stand sitting in this suddenly-empty home. There is no longer a tippy-tap of lady's paws on my hardwood floors. Read More

Laney
Read MoreLaney came into our home and our hearts in August 2010. She was such a shy little girl when she came to us at 18 months of age. After a few months she truly settled in and decided that this family was a threesome. She was such a sweet, loving companion who loved us and her home so much. Sadly she crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 3, 2021 after a brief illness. She definitely left paw prints on our hearts. We miss her terribly and will love her forever. See you on the other side sweet girl!

You were just over 3 years old when you came into our lives. We were just going to foster you for a short time, here it is over 11 years later and our home will never be the same without you to come home to. We know you loved the large fenced in yard that you chased rabbits and squirrels in, and playing with Jake and Jessica. You will be missed.

Mia

Henry
Read More
11/2004-4/2/2021 Henry (OKA Yeager) came to us from Indiana when he 4-months. He and his litter mates had been turned into a shelter (perhaps for not being champion quality) which is where NBRAN found them. Initially, we weren’t sure if Henry was a good fit for our family because his personality was so different than that of our previous Brittany. He quickly wormed his way into our hearts and for the past 16 years was themost lovable and faithful companion a family could ask for. We will miss him terribly. RIP, Hen Hen. You will always be our champion. Juliet Komisarcik

Jenny-ON
Read MoreJenny came to us as a hospice not expected to survive due to liver disease. She fooled us all and thrived in our household with her brother Rusty a coonhound and Boo and Poppy (cats). From the beginning we could always count on her smiling face and ever-wagging tail. She became very attached to my husband and love visits from her "cousins" Clover another NBRAN rescue ) and Rosie ( a GSP rescue ). Grandkids would love to walk and play with her chasing balls or squirrels. Right to the end she loved her walks. But her disease was relentless and the tail wagged less often. When it was time to go, she lay cradled in my husband's arms being stroked and knowing she had made a difference in this world. RIP Jenny. Run free. I know your tail is a waggin' now :)

Gus (Speck)
Read MoreSpeck adopted us in Aug 2011 when he was 3 years old. To be honest he didn’t seem like a Speck to us so we renamed him Gus. It didn’t take long for Gus to settle into his new forever home and become a family member. What an amazing dog Gus has been for the past 10 years, always happy & always wagging his tail. A constant companion who loved treats and always made us smile, we couldn’t have asked for a more loving, friendly dog. Gus went over the Rainbow Bridge on Jan 16, 2021. He will always be missed. Thank you NBRAN for letting Gus be apart of our lives.

Ginger
Read MoreOur beloved Ginger crossed the Rainbow Bridge on October 24 2020. Ginger had been after diagnosed with an inoperable cancer. Ginger came to us in excellent physical health but poor mental health. She was a breeder's dog and had been in a puppy mill. Oh, the horror she must have endured. We carefully worked with her every day and she became an incredible dog and companion. She had an odd habit of rearranging objects/furniture with her nose which was hysterical. We still have nose slobber on all our windows and it reminds of all the joy she brought this family. We'll never forget her.

After many surgeries (thanks to NBRAN) it was discovered that his neutering was done improperly and kept us from getting him sooner than originally planned. However, it was worth the wait as he turned out to be a great healthy boy who brought not only joy and happiness into our lives but anyone he met.
